Teaching Learning

The Physics and electronics department of the college is one of the oldest departments of the college. Department has made a name for itself for its academic excellence. With a diverse student population, the department strives to deliver undergraduate teaching in a meaningful manner and create an environment where students are able to discover their potential. Since the department's culture places a high value on moving beyond the confines of formally specified courses, the active and enthusiastic participation of students in community building activities is a crucial component of overall development. The department's vibrant student organization, “Lumen” plans numerous events for students, including seminars, workshops, and educational excursions. Students have the chance to practice teamwork and grow as leaders thanks to this. To improve teaching and learning, the department's teachers use a variety of teaching tools. Softwares like Scilab, Matlab, Python, Mathematica, R, and HTML, among others are utilized to help concept visualization and improvement. Small tutorial groups are formed in each class to more effectively address the students' issues. Regular class exams, presentations, assignments, and vivas are held for the purpose of continuously evaluating the pupils. The department designates teachers each year to assist students in research projects, summer workshops, and several other academic activities outside of their usual course of study. The Physics and Electronics department has always been committed to the students and their desire to achieve their life goals. The department often hosts events like talks, seminars, and workshops to introduce students to the newest research fields being investigated around the globe. The physics and electronics department has given students a great atmosphere for general growth. By visiting numerous research facilities and production facilities, like the Magneti Marelli manufacturing facility, the Inter University Accelerator Centre in New Delhi, and the Narora Power plant, the department has encouraged its students to expand their practical expertise. They mostly learned the theoretical components of physics and electronics as part of their regular education. These visits gave them an ideal opportunity to connect their theoretical understanding with real-world applications and observe the assembly line manufacturing method that is actually employed in the sector. The department has implemented a number of cutting-edge teaching-learning methodologies in addition to a blended learning approach. The emphasis is placed on active learning techniques such peer review, group discussions, book reviews, paper presentations, assignments, and E- posters. By conducting field-based research projects on a range of subjects, students can learn in the field. Under various student enrichment programmes, motivational talks are organized to promote student contact with famous scientists. Additionally, special lecture series offered by other schools are recommended for students to attend. The Department places a strong emphasis on project-based learning because it adheres to the belief that learning should occur outside of the classroom. The course structure is used to its fullest potential to encourage students to engage in independent and active learning through projects. The department also encourages students to participate in summer internship programmes and projects at other research organizations.
