Project Aahar, an initiative by NSS Hansraj, that started out as a simple initiative to ensure the channelization of surplus food from student accommodations to the needy, recently completed its 100th donation. In just a year of the project’s conceptualisation, it has grown by leaps and bounds and ensured feeding hundreds of people, so as nobody goes to sleep on an empty stomach. We’re elated to have fed over 800 people in the span of an entire one year. What started out as a simplistic venture has truly gathered force and support from all, developing into such a huge success as it has been. Project Aahar has been expanding its horizons too. It now encompasses Animal Food Donation as well wherein we channelise animal food to stray animals out there on the streets. All of this could never have been possible without the sustained support that Aahar has been the recipient of! We would like to extend our warm gratitude to our programme officer, Dr. Romila Rawat Bisht, for being our constant source of inspiration as well as our dedicated volunteer body, without whom this surreal dream could never be a reality.

Keeping the eternal goal of spreading smiles at our heart, N.S.S. Hansraj is proud to announce the 'Project Aahar’, a project that aims at channelizing the leftover food at PGs and hostels to the needy! A number of food donation drives have been carried out by N.S.S. Hansraj from time to time, and this is just a step towards the same glorious motive of making sure that our less fortunate brothers and sisters have access to basic amenities in life. We would like to urge everyone to please contact us regarding any leftover food at your PG and hostels so that we can take a step into the direction of ensuring that no Indian sleeps on an empty stomach!
