Dr. Archana Singh, M.Sc, Ph.D, is a Plant Molecular Biologist at Hansraj College, University of Delhi. She graduated from Miranda House, University of Delhi, and obtained her Masters from Department of Botany, University of Delhi.  Dr. Archana obtained her Ph.D. in Plant Molecular Biology from National Institute for Plant Genome Research, Aruna Asaf Ali Marg, New Delhi. She has been teaching theory and practical classes of Bioinformatics, Analytical Techniques in Plant Sciences, Cell Biology, Molecular Biology and Biotechnology to undergraduate students of B.Sc (Hons) Botany and B.Sc (Prog) Life Sciences, since 2009. Her research domains include Functional Genomics in the area of Plant Protection and Human Health. Dr. Archana worked on “Moleular Analysis of early-responsive genes of Chickpea during biotic stresses” for her doctoral research. Dr. Singh is a recipient of EMBO Fellowship (2019) by European Molecular Biology Organization, Heidelberg, Germany; SERB-Early Career Research Award (2018); UGC-Raman post-doctoral fellowship (2016-2017); DST-Young Scientist Award (Fasttrack, 2012) from Ministry of Science of Technology, Govt. of India. Dr. Singh has published more than twenty-five research articles in various journals of National and International repute such as Journal of Experimental Botany (Oxford), Journal of Integrated Plant Biology (Wiley), Scientific reports, International Journal of Biological Macromolecules, BBA-Molecular basis of Disease   etc. Dr. Singh, has also edited two books and authored more than ten book chapters that are published by Springer Nature and Elsevier. In addition, she has been awarded with International Travel grants from DBT and DST. Dr. Archana has undertaken five research projects funded by various external agencies and two from University of Delhi. Dr. Singh has worked as visiting scientist at Department of Plant Pathology, University of Kentucky, Lexington, USA and also at Department of Molecular Ecology, Max Planck Institute of Chemical Ecology, Jena, Germany. Currently Dr. Singh is supervising one post-doctoral fellow (NPDF), two Ph.D. scholars and few JRFs and summer interns.
