  1. Photovoltaic Devices: PV design using alternate technologies like conducting polymers along with different donor-acceptor moieties and intermediate layers for enhanced efficiency. Nanomaterials
  2. OLED Devices: Organic LEDs using polymeric materials for various applications. Enhancing efficiency and generation of a broad spectrum of colours using different compositions and dye dopants. Nanomaterials
  3. LED lighting solutions: Characterization of semiconductor LEDs and design of alternate light sources for efficient utilization of energy. Includes the selection of the emitter element, heat sinks and mounting considerations along with drive units.
  4. Test and measurement and Device Characterization. Use of various Test and measurement systems from industry standard manufacturers and optimisation of use.
  5. Equipment design and modification: Design of new low cost alternate ingenious equipment along with minor modification of systems for maximum utilisation.

  1. Analog Electronics: Applications of PN junction diodes, Bipolar Junction Transistors, Junction Field Effect Transistors, and Metal Oxide Field Effect Transistors as rectifiers, voltage sources, amplifiers, oscillators, and switching applications.
  2. Digital Electronics: Applications of digital circuits as basic gates and logic circuits, as counters, frequency dividers and multipliers, encoders decoders, multiplexers and de-multiplexers, VHDL Programming
  3. Instrumentation: Design and use of various Test and measurement instruments. Basic theory involved and the application of various transducers for different measurement applications.

During my Ph D I have worked on the development of polymer photovoltaics. With advent of flexible polymer photovoltaics, large area light weight solar cells have been feasible which find numerous applications on numerous structural buildings. During my tenure as a teacher in college I guided a number of students in small projects involving new technologies and design of equipment. One such project of Solar LED bulb, a lighting solution for the rural areas was highly appreciated at the Annual University festival Antardhvani 2015 and was awarded the best innovative idea award. I also encourage students to work on new projects.

Thesis/Dissertation Title : Development of Conjugated Polymer Films for Device Applications

The research work emphasized on development of flexible donor acceptor based bulk heterojunction conjugated polymer films for photovoltaic applications. The research work included the selection of the donor and acceptor molecules and selection of a common solvent for the two materials. This was followed by the selection of the optimal donor acceptor ratio for photovoltaic performance. The fabricated devices were characterized for their absorption, surface morphology and photovoltaic response along with their degradation studies. Post annealing optimizations were performed to maximize device response, performance and efficiency and a prototype was designed. New donor acceptor combinations were suggested for future work
